Houman Harouni

Houman Harouni is a Lecturer on Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education. His work addresses the problem of purpose in education — particularly mathematics — through a multidisciplinary lens that includes history, philosophy, and psychology. In addition to his work at Harvard, Harouni is a Spencer Fellow at the National Academy of Education and was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is an advisor to the Ministry of Science and Technology in Ecuador, a consultant with the Ministry of Education in China, and a long-time organizer and contributor to the training of teachers working with refugee populations in the Middle East.
