Researchers who specialize in literacy study a number of areas including reading and writing skill development, the effectiveness of instructional and curricular interventions related to literacy and language skills, and the effect of families and environments on children’s early language and reading ability.

We collected questions from real educators who are looking to improve the teaching and learning of reading and writing in their classrooms. The answers to those questions, developed in partnership with Usable Knowledge at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, can provide the first steps for using research to improve student outcomes in literacy.
