Researchers who specialize in math learning study a number of areas, including how children develop an understanding of mathematical concepts, how to measure and improve teachers’ mathematical knowledge and teaching, and the effectiveness of instructional and curricular interventions related to math.

We collected questions from real educators who are looking to improve math teaching and learning in their classrooms. The answers to those questions, developed in partnership with Usable Knowledge at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, can provide the first steps for using research to improve student outcomes in math.
